- June 13th - Friday - Take the Nire Valley Moon Trip
- For centuries poets and songwriters have written about the moon in June and such songs and poems are full of moonbeams, moonlight and moon shadows. On the 13th of June the sun sets at 21:54hrs and three minutes later, at 21:57hrs, the moon makes her entrance. Join us on our June Moon trip as we take a night walk to watch the sun set and the moon rise.
- In a night sky on one of the shortest nights of the year, we will gather at 20:30hrs at Ballymacarbry Community Centre, our expedition will take us through the magical Turraphucca Woodland and its environs to finish in Ballymacarbry where we can enjoy a relaxing drink and enthuse about our fantastic nights experience and have your own 'moon" song ready for the session.
- Whether you have a passion for the bard and believe "arise, fair sun and kill the envious moon" (Romeo & Juliet)
- or you want to be a cool cat and sing "I'm a being followed by a Moonshadow" (Cat Stevens)
- Come and join us. Contact 087-7539275, or any accommodation provider.
- It will be late when we return 23:30. Bring suitable clothing and a viz jacket or torch.
- Oh! by the way it is FREE.
